Pear and Blueberry Crumble

 900 g pears and bluberries - I would do about 3/4 pears to 1/4 blueberries
 150 g soft brown sugar
 225 g plain flour
 75 g softened butter
 1 tsp baking powder
 toasted flaked almonds
 1 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg or ground ginger

Preheat the oven to GM 4 or 180 degrees
1. Peel and chop the pear into bite-size pieces.
2. Add the pear and blueberries (fresh or frozen) to a pan with a little water and heat gently until a just starting to soften. You may wish to add a touch of sugar to taste.
3. In a bowl add the flour, baking powder and spice, mix well and then rub in the butter to reach a breadcrumb like consistency, then add the sugar.
4. In an oven proof dish, add the fruit and top with the crumble mix. Sprinkle the toasted flaked almonds on top.
5. Bake for 30-40 minutes.
